Phenocheck - Handheld Spectral Phenotyper 400-1000nm, Vegetation Index Mapping, plant health, precision agriculture, hyperspectral, multispectral imaging
PHENOCHECK

The PhenoCheck handheld camera brings the diagnostic power of spectral imaging in your hands and the modern agri-tech revolution to your business.

PhenoCheck is a portable, battery-operated crop imager, acquiring and displaying, at video rate, Vegetation Index and Spectral Map images, side-by-side with spectral and color images. It integrates a LED array light source, enabling both diffuse reflectance and fluorescence spectral imaging, in situ. It can also be interfaced with tablet PCs, hosting and executing the system’s advanced software suite, all together comprising an all-in-one solution, offering turnkey operation.

The PhenoCheck crop imager informs instantly about the presence of pathogens, viruses, pests, water and nutrient stress. It also offers an objective means for the assessment of fruit ripening, for predicting of the optimal harvest date. By integrating all these unique features, the PhenoCheck camera comprises a valuable tool for controlling and optimizing farming, towards reducing the use of fertilizers, pesticides and water

PHENOCHECK

How it works

The PhenoCheck camera is built upon a snapshot, video rate, High-Definition spectral imager acquiring, six spectral bands, spanning the 400-1000nm spectral range. The camera comes integrated with a specially designed LED illumination system for enabling both diffuse reflectance and fluorescence modes of operation. The camera’s operating spectral bands and imaging modes have been carefully selected as the most critical ones for effectively addressing a broad spectrum of crop imaging applications.

The PhenoCheck imager is interfaced with a tablet PCs via a single cable transmitting both power and data. It is a low power system capable of working continuously for more than four hours, powered only with the tablet PC’s battery. All camera operations are controlled through a touch-screen graphical user interface. All images and maps are captured instantly and simultaneously with a single touch on the PC’s touch screen.

PhenoCheck imager package comes with a standard software platform, integrating ultrafast and efficient spectralα classification algorithms for calculating and real-time displaying Vegetation Index heat maps, spectral classification maps, spectral and color images in both diffuse reflectance and fluorescence imaging modes.

PHENOCHECK

Value proposition

Large area remote hyperspectral sensing, has been proven as an indispensable tool for monitoring aerobic and anaerobic stress conditions in plants. However, it is basically operated by specialized service providers and though expensive and complicated installations, including either satellite or airborne (airplane or drone) platforms

The PhenoCheck hand-held imager addresses the unmet need for a portable, high-end instrument to be operated in hands of agronomists, farmers and researchers, whiling to perform on-the-spot and in situ monitoring of crops, fruit ripening and agro-product quality assessment.

The PhenoCheck Camera comprises an indispensable tool in hands of agronomists, plant pathologists, farmers, analytical scientists etc., for obtaining and maintaining direct control the state of health of crops and for selecting, optimizing and evaluating treatment options.

The PhenoCheck camera is an affordable video rate spectral imager offering macro-scale reflectance and fluorescence spectral analysis and mapping. It detects and maps effects on plant color and spectral phenotypes, of pathogens, viruses, pests, water and nutrient stress.
